Azure Toolkit for IntelliJ IDEA: Deployment of Azure-Samples fn app project fails

Scenario

1. Create a new project in intellij from https://github.com/Azure-Samples/hello-spring-function-azure
2. create a fn app in Azure, for ex from the portal
3. deploy using the Azure Explorer
4. access the /hello URL
5. you'll get an HTTP 500
   The app insights log for the function app, log exceptions column innermostMessage shows this message

6. Deploy using maven by following the project Readme.md
7. access the /hello URL, now it works

Start with the Azure Explorer deployment flow in the IntelliJ Azure Toolkit and compare its deployed output and configuration with the working Maven deployment described in the sample project's Readme.md. Reproduce the /hello request and inspect the function app's Application Insights exception; done means deployment through Azure Explorer invokes the function successfully without the null-function HTTP 500.
