Start in CVECheckService.retrieveVulnerabilityData at line 312, then read its callers fetchCves, getCveUpgradeIssues, and batchGetCVEIssues. Reproduce the GitHub Security Advisory API request with a connection timeout and trace the resulting behavior; done when this failure no longer produces an uncaught exception and the expected behavior is covered by an appropriate test.
