Start with IntellijGradleFunctionProject.packageJar and trace the call through FunctionUtils.prepareStagingFolder and FunctionDeploymentState.prepareStagingFolder. Use the reported IntelliJ build, plugin version, and stack trace to reproduce the deployment path. Done means the packaging and staging flow no longer raises the reported IllegalStateException.
