Description

Getting below error when I try to sign in to my azure account in Azure Toolkit for IntelliJ plugin.

Azure: Failed to load subscriptions. Unable to find valid certification path to requested target.
Call stack:
Load subscriptions
Reload subscritpions
Login with (OAUTH2)
Sign in to Azure
Sign in

Seeing "sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target" exception in IntelliJ logs as well.

Able to sign in to azure through IntelliJ terminal, and with same plugin(extension) in VSCode as well. Facing issue only with IntelliJ plugin. Not sure whether its an issue with IntelliJ or the plugin.

Plugin version : 3.94.0-2024.3
Intellij version : 2024.3.4.1
JDK : Eclipse Temurin 21.0.5
OS : macOS Sequoia 15.3.1

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Research direction

Start by reproducing Azure sign-in through the Azure Toolkit for IntelliJ using the listed plugin, IntelliJ, JDK, and macOS versions, then compare its IntelliJ logs with the working terminal and VSCode sign-ins. Done means identifying whether the certificate-path failure belongs to IntelliJ or the plugin and documenting a verified resolution.
