Title: Feature Request: Forced Upmixing for Stereo Sources (YouTube) to 5.1/7.1 Side Channels via WASAPI
Hi Windows Audio Team,
I recently noticed a major audio improvement and clearly felt sound coming from my physical side channels while watching YouTube. If this was a native update by your team, thank you so much!
However, if I misheard or if this feature is not yet fully implemented as a permanent standard, please add a built-in feature to the Windows Audio Engine (WASAPI) that forces stereo sources—especially YouTube on web browsers—to automatically upmix and distribute sound to the physical 5.1/7.1 side channels. Multi-channel headset users should not have to rely on buggy software to utilize their side drivers. Please make this channel expansion a permanent Windows standard!
