Research direction

No source file, entry point, or test is identified. Start by reviewing the existing wslpath utility and any public C or C++ interfaces; determine where a callable equivalent belongs and how its results should match the utility. Done means the conversion is available without spawning a wslpath process and its behavior is covered by tests.
