Description
John tried running the upgrade when getting the toast notification and it failed.
The first time was through the toast notification. After I hit upgrade from the toast, It had said there were 3 processes running, I waited for them all to exit and hit “retry” or “continue” in the popup ui before I hit the problem.
In the logs it had
GVFS is currently running. Please close all instances of GVFS before continuing the installation.
He was able to upgrade using the command line. Seems the upgrade through the toast notification is not handling other GVFS processes properly.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the upgrade from the toast notification while GVFS processes are running, then compare that path with the command-line upgrade that succeeds. The issue is done when the toast-driven upgrade handles the running processes and completes without the reported GVFS error.
