Description
Currently when a user's disk is full, the following can occur:
- VFSForGit fails to persist background operations
- VFSForGit fails to write to the ModifiedPaths.dat file
- VFSForGit crashes
Consider updating VFSForGit so that it will shut itself down once a threshold is reached to prevent it from losing background tasks or updating the ModifiedPaths.dat file.

Research direction
Start by tracing how VFSForGit persists background operations and writes ModifiedPaths.dat, then inspect the full-disk error paths that can lead to data loss or a crash. Done means VFSForGit detects the specified disk-space condition and shuts down without losing background tasks or attempting the failing update.
