Description

Found in Catalina Beta 3, might also repro on earlier versions.

  1. gvfs clone https://gvfs.visualstudio.com/ci/_git/ForTests
  2. Expand folders inside of ForTests using Finder
  3. Observe: For a short time (~<1sec) the files appear with zero size:

  1. The files then display the correct size:

Research direction

Reproduce the issue with the listed gvfs clone command, Finder, and the ForTests repository on macOS. Start by tracing how the virtual filesystem reports file metadata during Finder folder expansion. Done means files no longer appear with size 0 before showing their correct size.
