Suggestion

It would be great if TS provided an additional alias for package.json's types/typings fields.

This new alias should make it clear it refers to TypeScript types, so that projects that provide more than one type system can avoid ambiguity.

A possible solution would be a new ts-types field.

My suggestion meets these guidelines:

• This wouldn't be a breaking change in existing TypeScript/JavaScript code
• This wouldn't change the runtime behavior of existing JavaScript code
• This could be implemented without emitting different JS based on the types of the expressions
• This isn't a runtime feature (e.g. library functionality, non-ECMAScript syntax with JavaScript output, etc.)
• This feature would agree with the rest of TypeScript's Design Goals.

Define the proposed TypeScript-specific alias and its compatibility with existing package metadata; done would require an agreed design and implementation validated against package-resolution behavior.
