Description
as best practice, executable should have a test/dry-run option to test configuration (syntax and working execution)
Something that can be used for example in ansible template deployment to ensure not deploying broken config

Research direction
Start by locating the executable's configuration parsing and execution entry points, then review Ansible's template validate parameter documentation linked in the issue. Define the dry-run behavior for syntax and execution checks, including how a broken configuration is reported without deployment; done means the executable exposes and documents a usable validation option.
