Description

WG21-P2976R1 Freestanding Library: <algorithm>, <numeric>, <random>, And More

Feature-test macros:

#define __cpp_lib_freestanding_execution 202502L
#define __cpp_lib_freestanding_random    202502L

INCREASED feature-test macros:

#define __cpp_lib_freestanding_algorithm 202502L
#define __cpp_lib_freestanding_memory    202502L
#define __cpp_lib_freestanding_numeric   202502L

[!NOTE]
__cpp_lib_freestanding_numeric was added with the value 202311L by cplusplus/draft#6738 for #4168 WG21-P0543R3 Saturation Arithmetic.

Separately, it was later increased to 202502L by cplusplus/draft#7706 for this paper.

Research direction

The issue names no files or tests. Start by reading WG21-P2976R1 and reviewing existing freestanding support for the named headers; completion would require implementing the paper's freestanding execution, random, algorithm, memory, and numeric feature-test macro changes, although the issue notes that C++26 PRs are not currently accepted.
