Description
To fix a correctness bug, we implemented the following unusual opt-in/opt-out machinery:
In vNext, we should simply support extended alignments unconditionally, and eliminate this preprocessor logic.
Also tracked by Microsoft-internal VSO-660008 / AB#660008.
vNext note: Resolving this issue will require breaking binary compatibility. We won't be able to accept pull requests for this issue until the vNext branch is available. See #169 for more information.
