Description
The command
```
dataset.write(filename=localfile)
```
writes the data to the `localfile`, but the metadata is still stored at the location provided by `qcodes.DataSet.default_io`.

Research direction
Start with GNUPlotFormatter and the dataset.write(filename=localfile) entry point, then inspect how metadata uses qcodes.DataSet.default_io. Reproduce the write with a localfile and verify that both the data and metadata are stored there.
