Installation method

PowerToys auto-update

Area(s) with issue?

Keyboard Manager

Steps to reproduce

If I rebind (in my case) right alt key to any chosen shortcut, then save & exit, it's almost a guarantee that I'll come back and find the "allow chords" option toggled on despite me at no point doing it myself.

Toggling "allow chords" off will result in all other shortcuts getting randomly disabled. This is extremely infuriating and has been happened to me all the time recently.

Research direction

Start in the Keyboard Manager settings flow and reproduce the issue by rebinding Right Alt, saving, exiting, and reopening PowerToys. Check how the Allow Chords option and shortcut mappings are persisted and restored; done means the option no longer changes unexpectedly and disabling it does not disable other shortcuts.
