Description

Microsoft PowerToys version

0.99.1

Installation method

WinGet

Area(s) with issue?

FancyZones

Steps to reproduce

I installed (updated) Powertoys using winget to version 0.99.1 and afterwards the "Hold shift while dragging a window to activate zones" made it so I couldn't type Capital letters using shift. It seemed to overwrite my Shift key behaviour since Powertoys still registered me pressing shift when I tried to change shortcuts and it's working now after I toggled that option off.

✔️ Expected Behavior

This functionality to actually only activate when I press and hold shift whilst dragging a window.

❌ Actual Behavior

Basically disabled my 'normal' shift key behaviour

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in FancyZones on PowerToys 0.99.1 with “Hold shift while dragging a window to activate zones” enabled. Verify that Shift still types capital letters normally when no window is being dragged, while holding it during a drag activates zones; confirm the behavior on the reported Windows 25H2 build.
