Description

### Microsoft PowerToys version

V0.99.1

### Installation method

Microsoft Store / Company Portal

### Area(s) with issue?

Image Resizer

### Steps to reproduce

I use it to compress a large number of images but keep the resolution. But i need EXIF data. This did work in earlier Versions.

My most used preset is:
100% resolution
JPG quality set to 70% in the settings.

Steps:
Right-click on Picture(s)
- "Only shrink pictures, do not enlarge" disabled
- "Ignore orientation" enabled
- "Overwrite Files" enabled
- "Remove metadata that not changing rendering" disabled.
(im loosly translating here, not so good in English)

### ✔️ Expected Behavior

EXIF data, should be untouched and transferred to the transformed Picture, when "Remove metadata that not changing rendering" is disabled.

### ❌ Actual Behavior

EXIF data, atleast GPS and camera/ lighting settings, get deleted on transforming images.
But in the originals and in the .bak the EXIF data is still there.

### Additional Information

Had to restore all images from the recycle bin.
Based on the timestamps, this seems to have started between 29.04.2026 and 30.04.2026. Pretty sure i had an automatic update in that timeframe.
