Steps to reproduce

Hey, so I turned on "Paste with AI" and set the model to Gemini-1.5-pro. I put in my free API key, but when I tested it, I got an error: "an error occurred during paste operation."

I tried switching the model and restarting PowerToys, but it's still not working. All the other features are fine, though.

The whole point is to have the AI rewrite sentences for me.

Also, when I checked Google AI Studio, the usage section showed a couple of errors: "400 Bad Request" and "404 Not Found."

✔️ Expected Behavior

reformatting user's clipboard data. Use the user's instructions, and the content of their clipboard below to edit their clipboard content as they have requested it. Do not output anything else besides the reformatted clipboard content.

❌ Actual Behavior

"an error occurred during paste operation."

Research direction

Start in Advanced Paste's "Paste with AI" flow and reproduce the Gemini-1.5-pro request using the reported API key setup. Compare the observed 400 Bad Request and 404 Not Found responses with the generic paste error; done means identifying the failing request and confirming that clipboard rewriting works or documenting the missing information needed to proceed.
