Description

### Microsoft PowerToys version

0.89.0.0

### Installation method

Microsoft Store

### Area(s) with issue?

General

### Steps to reproduce

Let the PC put the screens in standby, then touch the mouse or keyboard to wake them up. I do this all the time. I don't know why there was an issue this time.

### ✔️ Expected Behavior

I expected the screens to turn on and resume using my PC.

### ❌ Actual Behavior

Screens were off. Moved mouse to bring them back and a window popped up saying something went wrong. Will attach screenshot of the window.

It probably has something to do with my Samsung G7 connected via DP to an RTX 4070. One of them or the combination is causing other annoyances.

Research direction

Start with the attached screenshot and 2026-02-18.txt, then review the standby and wake behavior reported for PowerToys 0.89.0.0. Reproduce the issue using the Samsung G7 and RTX 4070 DisplayPort setup if available, and confirm the error window and screen recovery behavior before identifying the relevant PowerToys area.
