Description
Hello, we're trying to register a Company developer account for Microsoft Edge extensions (small EU-based company, Company account type) to publish an extension with monetization enabled.
Our verification was closed at the Employment Verification step with status "Rejected" and the message: "Based on the information you have provided to date, we have determined that your organization does not currently meet the requirements to pass verification. There are no appeals available, we have closed your application."
We are a legitimate registered business with proper documentation available, but there's no "Fix Now" option or way to submit documents from within the portal. The standard "Get Support" link and the in-portal ticket form both redirect back to signing in to the very account that's already closed, creating a dead end with no way to actually reach a human — which is why we're reaching out here instead.
We tried the following, and the rejection persisted through all of them:
- Re-started the entire registration and verification process from scratch, signed in with the personal Microsoft account (MSA) tied to a named individual's corporate email address (not a shared alias)
- Confirmed Company approver matches the officially registered sole owner of the company (per business registry extract)
- Our company domain is fully verified with our email provider (Google Workspace) — but has never been added to Microsoft Entra ID
One specific question: does the "Employment Verification" step for a Company account require the primary contact's domain to be formally verified within Microsoft Entra ID (a genuine work account), or is a personal Microsoft account (MSA) using a corporate-domain email address sufficient? Our entire infrastructure runs on Google, and we want to know if setting up a Microsoft Entra tenant is actually required before we invest the time, or if something else caused the rejection.
For reference, our Seller ID is 96080540, in case that helps locate the specific case for review.
Could you please advise what specifically caused the rejection, or help us get this escalated to someone who can review the case manually?
Thank you.
