Description

We're using the -M flag as covered here, but out build process also involves running DXC with the -P flag to preprocess the file.

It'd be great if the -MD and -MF flags were supported when running DXC in -P preprocess only mode.

Research direction

Start by tracing DXC's command-line handling for -P preprocess-only mode and the existing -M dependency flags described in issue 2063. Verify how -MD and -MF should behave in this mode, then add coverage showing that preprocess-to-file supports depfile generation and confirm the command-line behavior.
