Description
Instead of having React components register/unregister with the host system directly, provide a mediator prop to handle that instead. This avoids having the potentially buggy behavior of handling asynchronous event registration.

Research direction
Start by locating the React components that register and unregister asynchronous listeners with the host system, then trace how their props reach that registration code. Identify the existing mediator pattern or prop boundary and confirm the intended registration lifecycle before making changes. Done means registration is handled through a mediator prop rather than directly by React components, with the affected behavior covered by existing tests if available.
