Description
Is there an api (and does BT allow it) to assign a data type to a Characteristic?
I am creating my own service and characteristics using 128bit UUID's. I'd like to in effect say "this characteristic is an integer" - is that possible?

Research direction
Start by reviewing the Bluetooth Characteristic API and its support for custom 128-bit UUIDs. Determine whether a characteristic can declare an integer data type and identify the relevant API or documentation entry point; done means the capability and supported behavior are clearly established.
