Description

Version Information:

GmsCore Version: v0.3.13.250932

Device: Xiomai 15

Android Version: 16

Description:
Android Auto is failing to initialize or establish a stable connection with the automotive head unit when using GmsCore v0.3.13.250932. The service appears to be unresponsive, preventing the projection of the interface to the vehicle display.

Steps to Reproduce:

Connect the mobile device to the vehicle's head unit (via USB/Wireless).

Attempt to launch Android Auto.

Observe the lack of connection or session timeout.

Expected Behavior:
The head unit should detect the device and successfully project the Android Auto interface.

Actual Behavior:
The connection fails to handshake or is immediately dropped, rendering Android Auto unusable.

Investigation Notes & Proposed Fix:
my investigation suggests this is a known regression in the current build. References to the identified technical cause and potential remediation can be found in the repository tracking here: https://github.com/zappybiby/GmsCore/releases

Research direction

Start by reviewing the Android Auto connection behavior described for GmsCore v0.3.13.250932 and compare it with the referenced GmsCore release information. Reproduce the USB or wireless head-unit connection and capture where initialization, handshake, or session establishment fails. Done means Android Auto detects the device and maintains a usable projection session.
