Description

Affected app
Name: Google Pixel Watch app
Package id: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=Pixel%20watch&c=apps

Describe the bug
Will not pair with Pixel Watch 4 (new product as of October). Wants “Google Play Services.”

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Get a Pixel Watch 4
  2. Download the Pixel Watch app using Aurora
  3. Turn on the watch and run the app
  4. See error on watch. Takes about 60 secs to timeout

Expected behavior
Watch pairs with phone through the app and the setup dialog begins (there are short YouTube vids that show the expected behavior.)

Screenshots
I don’t have any.

Research direction

Start with the reproduction steps: install the Pixel Watch app through Aurora on Android 15, pair it with a Pixel Watch 4, and observe the Google Play Services error and timeout. The issue provides no file or test entry point; done would mean the app can pair with the watch and begin setup under microG.
