Certain notification tones don't play anymore

Describe the bug
All of my notification tones used to work fine. It then started with Signal. Every time I receive a message from Signal, nothing plays - regardless of if my phone is silenced or not. Then my SMS messages (through QKSMS) started doing the same thing - the vibration happens, the notification pops up, but no sound. And now my phone calls (regular calls, not Signal) play a default tone instead of what I've chosen. All of these notifications have sounds set for them that I chose either in the specific app, in the phone settings, or both. But the messages are now completely quiet, and the calls use a tone I did not pick and cannot change - despite the settings saying that the tone is what I chose.

I'm not sure how to describe how to replicate it because my notification sounds worked fine for years, and now because of something I'm not sure of, they're not.
