Description

Affected app
Name: Google Family Link
Package id: com.google.android.apps.kids.familylink

Describe the bug
While it's possible to access Google Family Link (1.99.0.B.485166177 in my case), when you view one of the managed accounts (i.e., one of your kids) the Location map is not displayed, though the location text itself is.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Launch Google Family Link
  2. Select the account to use
  3. Presuming you actually get in, click on one of the managed users
  4. Scroll down to Location. The location address will be displayed, but the maps are not.

Expected behavior
The maps with visual indication of the location should be show.

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

System

Additional context
The only obvious maps-related information in the logcat is as follows.

Loading mapbox-gl from /data/user/0/com.google.android.apps.kids.familylink/cache/.gmscore/lib/arm64-v8a/libmapbox-gl.so

Research direction

Reproduce the missing map in Google Family Link's managed-account Location view on the reported Android and microG versions, then inspect the logcat entry for libmapbox-gl.so under the app's .gmscore cache. Done means the location text and a visual map with the location indicator are displayed.
