Description

I'm sorry if this is the wrong way of reaching out.

An academic study recently confirmed that microGs connections are opt-in (in the form of being implemented in /e/ OS):

This might be interesting when reaching out for funds etc.
For those who wonder about LineageOS's extensive connections: it was equipped with OpenGapps, which is mentioned only briefly.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the linked Android privacy study and its discussion of /e/ OS, LineageOS, and OpenGapps. The issue names no repository files or tests and does not define a documentation change or acceptance criteria, so there is no clear implementation endpoint.
