Description

Hi,
Trying to breathe new life into an old phone (mediatek wiko phone with android 4.2.2) by replacing google services with microG in stock firmware (keeping installed GApps for now).
Seems to be doing really well so far, so much free RAM =)

Went through installation:
patched framework for signature spoofing, removed google account, backed up and removed google services apks, installed microG apks:

GmsCore 0.2.10.19420
Services Framework Proxy 0.1.0

Checked microG settings, everything looks good except network location which i haven't tried to setup yet (says "your system does not support this UnifiedNlp package") but that's another issue hopefully.

I can't add a google account however:

Getting "Just a sec..." screen, then Sign in page but nothing happens when i click on the entry.

I looked at other similar issues, tried disabling chrome, enabling javascript in stock browser (had it disabled), no luck so far. Not sure what's going on, maybe a bit similar to #156 ?
Any ideas appreciated, can hack around if needed.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the account-add flow described on Android 4.2.2 with the listed GmsCore and Services Framework Proxy versions. Review the comparison with issue #156 and the linked screenshot; done means the Google account can be selected and added, or the cause and required compatibility change are identified.
