Description
Hi
I am setting my micro,
and it seems that I am not able to produce any change in the GUI, when changing the "tabhighlight" and the "tabreverse" settings.
I even tried changing my colorscheme, because I thought maybe the cahnge does not express in my current colorscheme,
but that did not help.
Maybe I am not understanding these 2 settings?
Shouldn't I see a change on the top row, when opening more than 1 file (hence having several tabs)?

Research direction
Reproduce the issue in micro by setting tabhighlight and tabreverse, changing the colorscheme, and opening multiple files to create several tabs. Trace how these settings affect tab rendering and compare the observed result with the expected highlighting or reversal. Done means the settings visibly change the relevant tab row as described, with a regression test if the existing test structure supports it.
