Description

Alt key not a problem with mate xfce4 or gnome terminal but it is with plain xterm

This post fixed it for me.

http://www.humbug.in/2010/enable-alt-key-in-xterm/

Entering as issue so others can find solution quickly.

You can close after reading.

I also created a very detailed NetRexx yaml file here it you want to post link.

https://sourceforge.net/p/netrexx/code/ci/master/tree/tools/micro/netrexx.yaml

Checked it in there so license is same as NetRexx

Research direction

The issue supplies an external xterm workaround and asks to be closed, so no repository file or test is identified. Start by reproducing the Alt-key behavior in OpenBSD xterm and comparing it with the other terminals mentioned; completion would require a clearly defined fix or documentation change, which the issue does not specify.
