Description
Description of the problem or steps to reproduce
Would be nice to have a sidescrollmargin option which would be similar to scrollmargin but adds lines to the left and right sides of the cursor instead of the top and bottom. It would be analogous to the Vim option sidescrolloff.
Fwiw, I'd like to have this option so that I could use it, along with scrollmargin, to always keep the cursor centred when possible.

Research direction
Start by locating the existing scrollmargin option and the related cursor-scrolling code, then compare the requested behavior with Vim's sidescrolloff. Done means a sidescrollmargin option adds horizontal margins around the cursor and works together with scrollmargin to keep the cursor centered when possible.
