Description
For example on the command line: fman -c "show_alert('hello world')" would show an alert inside fman. Likewise, such a solution could be used to query the state of fman. The respective results could be returned in JSON.

Research direction
Start at fman's command-line entry point and inspect how commands, alerts, and application state are currently exposed. Define the scripting interface around the fman -c example, including JSON results for state queries; done means another application can invoke commands and receive the documented results.
