Description

In many cases lately when I manipulate files outside of fman (e.g. on the command line), fman doesn't reload the folder. This is especially surprising when I enter a folder (from another folder or from Cmd+P) and the files are still not updated - I have to Reload manually. When I enter a folder I expect its contents to always be up to date, or at least some visual indication that a reload is happening.

One example that I can reproduce is connecting a new hard drive and navigating to /Volumes. The hard drive doesn't show up in fman but it does show up in Finder. After a Reload shows up in fman too.

macOS 10.14.2, fman 1.5.6.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the missing refresh when entering a folder or connecting a drive under macOS 10.14.2, comparing fman with Finder. Trace the folder-navigation and manual Reload paths to identify where external changes are missed. Done means updated contents appear automatically, or a clear reload indicator is shown.
