Description

When deleting apps from /Applications on macOS High Sierra (using Cmd+Delete), fman sometimes immediately crashes and shows the macOS "crash reporting" message.

Sometimes, before crashing, fman shows an OS confirmation dialog ("Finder wants to move XXX to the Trash. Touch ID or enter your password to allow this."). But sometimes the confirmation message is not shown.

Sometimes, trying again to delete the same app crashes again, but sometimes it does work.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the crash in fman on macOS High Sierra: select an app under /Applications and use Cmd+Delete, comparing runs with and without the Touch ID or password confirmation. Use the macOS crash report to locate the failing deletion path; done means deleting these apps no longer crashes and the expected confirmation behavior is reliable.
