Pagination for dots

If there are a lot of slides, the dots will not fit on a small screen. I would be nice to have an option for a numbered, paginated version instead of the dots... in a future version (3.x or so).
This is how I solved it https://codepen.io/szopos/pen/gOjExdB but I guess there is a more elegant way for this.
