Description

Hi KernelAgent team,

First of all, thank you for this excellent project! KernelAgent brings a very promising vision — combining multi-agent orchestration with hardware-guided GPU kernel optimization.

I've been exploring the project and have a few questions about its future direction:

  1. Project Status
The latest commit appears to be from mid-July 2026 (~1.5 months ago). Is the project still under active development? If so, what is the current focus area?

  2. Roadmap
Are there any planned milestones or a public roadmap for the coming months? I'm particularly interested in:

  • New features or capabilities being explored (e.g., expanded kernel patterns, more advanced search strategies)
  • Plans for additional hardware backends (beyond the existing CUDA and XPU support)
  • Improvements to the LLM-guided optimization loop (better bottleneck analysis, template coverage, etc.)

Any insight you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Research direction

This is a project-status and roadmap question, and it names no implementation files, tests, or entry points. There is no defined code change or completion criterion for a newcomer; maintainers would first need to clarify whether a roadmap document or another concrete contribution is wanted.
