Description
Hi everyone,
First of all, apologies for sending a PR out of the blue in https://github.com/mesonbuild/meson/pull/9847.
I believe that the Wrapdb database would benefit from linking to the projects' canonical website alongside the current info (version, name, deps). I believe this is useful for two reasons:
1. discoverability of the project because there are many of them that I've not heard about and hitting the canonical website for them is useful to understand what they do.
2. Figuring out whether the version that Wrapdb provides is fresh or outdated. Perhaps this could be automated further, but I believe that's a larger task.
The info seems to not be available today for any of the projects, so we'd have to backfill everything, on top of adding the functionality. Furthermore, in the PR @eli-schwartz suggested that the CLI could also display this info.

Research direction
Start by reviewing PR #9847 and the Wrapdb data shown in the issue. Define how canonical websites would be added and backfilled for existing projects, then determine how the CLI should display them. Done means project records expose the website and the CLI presents it consistently.
