Description
Hi,
I forked PanWriter for my own workflow and added some UI Settings in Metadata section plus right side option fir preview pane side, persistence of layout and window size, and top toolbar always visible. I also renamed to "panwriter2" just so I can run both cleanly.
I am not a coder (I'm a product designer/UX/PM). Did this using ChatGPT and codex on my MacBook. So I can't attest to the quality but it seems to work.
Comments and guidance welcome.
My fork is here: https://github.com/mcguirems/924-panwriter2

Research direction
Start by reviewing the linked panwriter2 fork and comparing its UI settings, preview-pane placement, layout and window-size persistence, and toolbar behavior with the upstream PanWriter repository. Confirm which of these changes are intended for upstream inclusion and define completion as an agreed, maintainable set of features integrated into the main project.
