Describe the Bug

When listening to music via Android Auto over extended periods (primarily playing YouTube playlists ranging from 40 to 800 tracks), playback eventually degrades and stops entirely.

First, a single track fails to play. Skipping to the next track works temporarily, but shortly after, a "Source Error" message appears on screen and all subsequent songs fail to play. The issue can only be resolved by manually force-closing/restarting the SimpMusic app on the smartphone. This has been occurring consistently during daily use over the past year.

Steps to Reproduce

Connect the phone to Android Auto.

Start playing a YouTube playlist

Listen to music continuously for an extended period.

Observe that a track eventually fails to load/play.

Skip to the next track (works briefly).

Observe the "Source Error" message on screen and complete stoppage of playback until the app is manually restarted on the phone.

Expected Behavior

Playback should continue seamlessly across tracks and long sessions without stream failures, or the app should automatically refresh media tokens/sources without requiring a manual app restart on the phone.

Research direction

Begin by reproducing the failure with Android Auto on the reported app, Android, and Samsung S24 versions using a long YouTube playlist. Trace the playback and source-refresh path when the first track fails, then verify that extended playback continues without a Source Error or requiring an app restart.
