Description

The "Sharing a dat" section is premised on three faulty assumptions: 1. Somebody is stepping through this tutorial at the command line on a remote server. 2. Somebody has a remote server. 3. Running two installations of dat—brand-new software that they know almost nothing about—in two different places at the same time is helpful rather than confusing.

I think that it's valuable to teach people about sharing a dat, but I think this is a really confusing way to do it.

Research direction

Read markdown/05-dat-clone.md, especially the “Sharing a dat” section, and compare its assumptions with the issue’s concerns about remote servers and two installations. Define a clearer way to teach sharing a dat and revise the section so the resulting tutorial no longer depends on those confusing assumptions.
