Description

atom 1.26.1
open-vim 0.2.3

What a great plugin, I really like this to open MacVim 👍

image

When I start atom, I can't seem to get the plugin to work. Sometimes I try to set the executable path and then reset it, or disable/re-enable the plugin and start and stop macvim, but I've never pinned down what makes the plugin begin to work.

Could you help me understand what I am doing wrong?

Edit:
It seems like I can't use it until after the first time I place a cursor into an open file, this seems to encourage it to load 😕. Perhaps it's too lazy. If this is the case it seems like a bit of a UX hiccup because it's then difficult to go straight to vim.

Research direction

Reproduce the issue with Atom 1.26.1 and open-vim 0.2.3, comparing startup behavior before and after placing a cursor in an open file. Investigate the Atom startup and plugin-loading path; done means the plugin can be used immediately after startup without toggling settings or opening a cursor first.
