Description
Currently if the input is garbage or incorrect, the parser returns the current Date. I think it'd be better to return an error message like "Invalid input" so that it's easy to catch.

Research direction
The issue does not name a file, test, or entry point. Start by locating the parser behavior that returns the current Date for garbage input; done means invalid input returns an error rather than the current Date.
