Research direction

Start by tracing the repository's Ghostscript-based PDF-to-PDF/A conversion command and reproduce the issue with a multilingual PDF whose encoding changes from built-in to custom. Identify where encoding is affected and verify completion by confirming that characters in different languages remain usable in the resulting PDF/A document.
