Description
I'm trying to update from v2.1.0-beta to v2.1.4-beta. The update is offered but trying to do the update doesn't seem to do anything.
My unproven suspicion is that it's maybe a permissions problem - I don't generally run as an administrator and expect a lot of this sort of thing to cause a prompt for an administrator username and password but this doesn't happen. Nothing happens - no new window or error message.
I can see in Activity Monitor that it has downloaded the right amount of data for an update, but then the update process seems to cease.
I haven't seen anything obvious in console messages about what the problem might be either.
I'll manually do an update for now of course.

No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reproducing the update from v2.1.0-beta to v2.1.4-beta on macOS, then inspect Activity Monitor and Console around the failed update; done means the update completes or reports a clear error.
