Description

A user with a high end windows gaming PC reported poor perceived frame rate on their 144hz. It looks like it is performing well so it's likely a thread synchronization issue.

This was observed in Chrome and Edge with an AMD 5900x and 7900 XTX.

Research direction

Reproduce the report on Windows in Chrome and Edge with a 144Hz display, using the AMD 5900x and 7900 XTX configuration described. Compare reported performance with perceived frame rate and input latency, then investigate whether thread synchronization explains the discrepancy. Done means identifying a reproducible cause and a clearly scoped next step.
