Description

The onboarding is very dry right now. Having a list of Spaces with specific interests (e.g. FSFE, The Document Foundation, Lemmy.World, Ansble, various Linux distros…) could be helpful for newcomers.

It would obviously require the opt-in of the space owners

Research direction

Start by locating the onboarding content in the matrix.org website and review how community listings are currently presented. Confirm the opt-in process with space owners and define the required list format; done means an agreed, maintained set of opted-in communities is visible to newcomers.
