Description

The performance is close to 1FPS, maybe less, making it very difficult to use the tool interactively.

Reproduced poor performance in edit mode for both pyside and pyqt with v0.10. Also able to reproduce in v0.9 with Python 3.9.

Ubuntu 24, thinkpad T14 (purchased late 2024), Core Ultra 7 155U, 64GB RAM.

I assume others are observing the same problem. Can anyone validate?

Research direction

Start by reproducing the near-1 FPS behavior in edit mode on Ubuntu 24 with both PySide and PyQt, comparing v0.10 with v0.9 under Python 3.9. Profile the interactive editor at high resolution to locate the bottleneck. Done means edit mode is responsive and the improvement is validated across the reported configurations.
