Description
Would be nice to know which operating system is in use. We could track this as a custom variable (we'd need another slot for this, requires schema change) or directly using builtin features like the Visitor Software Report if this is possible.
- Operating System Linux/Windows/Mac/... or instead of Linux the distribution like "Ubuntu" since we do not expect to see many Windows/Mac installations
- Operating System version

Research direction
Review the plugin's existing custom-variable and schema handling, then investigate whether Matomo's Visitor Software Report can provide the operating system and version. Done means defining and implementing a decided approach for collecting the OS or distribution and version, but the issue does not yet resolve which approach or granularity to use.
