Research direction

Start by locating the regular-expression grammar rules in the MATLAB-Language-grammar repository that handle operators and command expressions. Reproduce the unhighlighted !chdir example, then verify that exclamation-point operating-system commands receive syntax highlighting without changing unrelated MATLAB highlighting.
